Meet the Eastwood Park team: Mary

For those getting married at Eastwood Park, Mary, our Venue Sales Manager, will be a familiar face.

She has been part of the team here at Eastwood Park since 2012 and runs our sales, weddings and events office. For many of you, she will be your contact for your wedding day, ensuring everything runs without a hitch!

What is your background?

I started working in hospitality in Bristol in the late 90’s, progressing to hospitality management on the operations side of events, before moving to Dublin and my first Weddings and Events Coordinator role. I stayed in Ireland for 11 years, enjoying event management in both city and rural hotels, before taking a short break to have my 2 lovely sons and returning to England.

I returned to hospitality at a Gloucestershire Hotel as temporary Events Manager which reminded me just how much I loved weddings and events and then joined the Eastwood Park team in October 2012 as part of the weddings and events team!

What is your role at Eastwood Park, what does this involve?

Eastwood Park is such a unique venue! It is a private house with so much space and we are very lucky to be able to offer lots of different, bespoke events. I oversee and help to organise a wide range of events from corporate to weddings, and of all shapes and sizes. In addition, I  help to promote our beautiful venue and create our regular events schedule and special packages.

Where is your number one photo opportunity at Eastwood Park?

It is so hard to pick my favourite as there are just so many wonderful photo opportunities, but I think it might have to be the EP initialled wrought-iron gates. If you photograph from one side you capture the beautiful Clock Tower in the background. From the other direction you get a view of our gorgeous stained-glass window. It’s just a lovely little surprise to find this tucked round the back in addition to the wonderful house itself.

Your most memorable wedding experience?

I once had to hold a Bride and Groom’s stick insects in a jar which they had displayed on their top table! This is despite being scared of all small creatures - spiders, butterflies and moths…you name it! I would be a terrible Jungle Contestant.

And what do you enjoy doing away from work?

I love to upcycle! From clothes to furniture, one of my favourite things to do is to hunt for treasure in old, unique stores and then put my own style and twist on them with a lick of paint.
